Questions about this tool
Are my statements uploaded?
No. The PDF is opened and read by your own browser; the statement and its password never reach Open or anyone else. Close the tab and it is gone.
Which banks are supported?
Statements from any bank whose PDF has a transaction table with a date and debit and credit (or amount) columns: SBI, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Kotak, Bank of Baroda, PNB, Yes Bank and others. It needs the PDF downloaded from net banking; scanned or photographed statements have no text to read.
How do I know the conversion is right?
For every row, the converter checks that the previous balance, minus the debit, plus the credit, equals the balance printed on the statement. When every balance adds up, the extraction matches the bank's own arithmetic. If some rows don't, compare those rows with the PDF.
What is the password of my statement PDF?
Banks set it from your details, commonly a mix of your name, date of birth, customer ID or the last digits of your account or mobile number. The email or page the statement came from says which format your bank uses.
Can I combine statements from different banks?
Yes. Add them all: the Excel file has a sheet for each account and an All transactions sheet with every account in date order.
How do I stop downloading statements every month?
Connect your banks to Open. Balances and statements from 40+ banks arrive on their own, every transaction is tagged at source, and they flow into Tally, SAP, NetSuite and other ERPs.
