Questions about this tool
Which banks does it work with?
Any bank whose corporate net banking takes a bulk upload file. Choose your bank's format, or upload the blank bulk-upload template from your own net banking: the tool reads its columns and fills them in the same order and file type. Banks often set the template up per company, so the one from your own login is the safest.
What is checked before the file is made?
That every IFSC is on RBI's NEFT and RTGS branch lists and supports the mode you chose, that account numbers have only letters and digits (and weren't turned into 1.23E+15 by Excel), that amounts are above zero, that RTGS payments are ₹2 lakh or more and IMPS payments ₹5 lakh or less, and that no account is paid the same amount twice. Rows with errors are left out of the bank file and listed so you can fix them.
How is the payment mode picked?
Leave Mode blank (Auto) and a payee in the same bank as your debit account is paid by within-bank transfer, ₹2 lakh and above goes by RTGS, and the rest by NEFT. Set NEFT, RTGS, IMPS or Within bank on any row to override it.
Can it check the beneficiary's name on the account?
No. A file can't check whose account it is: the IFSC check confirms the branch exists, not the account. Confirm new payees' details with them, or use a penny-drop check before the first payment.
How Open checks payeesIs my data uploaded?
No. Your payee list, account numbers and the bank file stay in your browser. Only RBI's public branch list is downloaded to check the IFSC codes.
Why do some characters disappear from names and narrations?
Bank upload files commonly reject commas, quotes and symbols, and a comma inside a name breaks a CSV file. Names, narrations and references keep letters, digits, spaces and . & ' ( ) / -.
